Collisions, encounters, symbiosis and synthesis: The reconciliation of formerly separated disciplines can yield new perspectives. Thus, in the Digital Media study program, computer science meets design, while engineering and natural sciences interconnect with the arts. Design, development and application of complex multimedia systems have long since ceased to be feasible by simply placing design elements on top of functional ones or vice versa - closer cooperation, a fusion of disciplines is necessary. Digital Media in Bremen takes on that challenge. Virtual Reality, Corporate Design and Media Theory: There is a large spectrum of topics. For example: - technical basics of multi- and hypermedial systems - new media technologies, such as virtual and augmented reality - basics in design, photography and typography - intermedial design, corporate design and sound design - theoretical-reflexive media sciences such as media theory, media history and semiotics We offer proficiency in computer science, design and application, emphasize scientific orientation and interdisciplinarity, and teach professional skills on a broad scale. We open up opportunities for our students in a wide range of professions -- from scientific research and telecommunication to advertising, marketing and public relations. Equilibrium, authenticity, freedom: The unique inter-university cooperation of the Digital Media study program lets students select from a comprehensive offer of courses, putting them in a position to authentically experience all aspects of Digital Media. Students will profit from the university's atmosphere of research, the University of the Arts' creative environment as well as the practical approach of the Bremen and Bremerhaven Universities of Applied Sciences. Flexible study conditions and synchronized curricula allow for the creation of individual profiles and fields of focus. Bachelor and Master: The three-year Bachelor program teaches basic skills, qualifying its graduates for practical and scientific work in the realm of Digital Media. The program includes a one-year Bachelor Project and an internship. Internationality is emphasized by a semester abroad as well as course offers from international guest speakers. The two-year, international, anglophone Master program expands and deepens the Bachelor's knowledge. It provides a bridge towards academic work and the topics of current scientific research. Here, students from dozens of nations work in an international and intercultural community. |
