Overview
The master's thesis concludes the studies in the Digital Media master's program. With 30 ECTS credits, the master's thesis is the second to largest task in the program - just after the master's project. 30 credits translates to a total workload of 900 hours, or one semester. This is usually the fourth semester. The thesis must include a written text (typically 80 pages). Additionally, students may and are encouraged to include practical work (e.g. a software product or an artistic installation). Aims
The master's thesis' task is to prove the ability to follow scientific research methods (resp. artistic or design approaches for M.A.) and to contribute to science and/or art in the field of digital media,
building on state-of-the-art knowledge and methods. BenefitsThe master's thesis shows the student's ability to solve a complex problem within given rules and in a self-organized way. Aside from the effect on the final grade, the thesis opens opportunities for a future professional and/or academic carreer. |
